How can I reduce latency to a euro server when i'm from asia?
I checked that my latency connecting to the euro game server is 200+. Why are there still occasional lag spikes?
Anything I can do to tweak this? Help appreciated!
Ok he is right to some extent, the latency will not be reduced beyond anything you can do to your hardware. Once it is out of your own network (usually ~ 1ms) you have no control. However you isp may be causing you issues as well. I know my ISP takes 60ms to get out of their network. This is a huge pain but it is cheap internet so i live with it.
THe way to see what is causing the slow down is the comand prompt. When you havec it open type "tracert www.google.com" google is a substitute for whatever site you are goign to. this will show you every "hop" that the connection makes. Aka every router it gets to. If you can identify and make sense of the words that label the routers, (some companies do a good job at this others not so great). If you notice it takes ~60ms to get out of your isp then you might want to consider changing providers. I hope this helps.
