Full carbon frame vs aluminum with carbon fork?
So I'm in between two bikes.
2011 Trek 2.3 for $1511 +tax

I'm not planing on competing, I just want a comfortable bike. I took home the Giant bike a week ago and had a pretty good time with it. But I keep hearing bad things about carbon bikes.
Is one better than the other? Which bike would you go for and why?
By the way I rode both of them, (the giant more than the trek) and the fitting is a little better on the giant. But then again I rode the giant for 3 hours and the trek only 30 min.
As a general rule two bikes from quality manufacturers like Trek and Giant in the same price range are comparable in quality and components so... pick the one that is most comfortable for you. As far as the difference between the carbon frames versus aluminum for most casual riders... carbon rides a bit softer as it does a little bit better dampening road vibrations, beyond that most of us won't realize much difference.
To be fair give the Trek the same 3 hours riding before you decide.
