i am thinking of buying a Satellite Receiver for hotbird, arabsat and english broadcasts, any suggestions?
i currently have a Receiver and a Satellite dish and the picture keeps going and coming plus the dish is terrible and im thinking of buying a new one to watch arabsat or badr and hotbird and european or english channels, cant be that expensive.
You can get a Free To Air satellite receiver from Maplin for around £40. I'd recommend an 80 inch solid dish preferably motorised, otherwise you'll have to have two or three LNBs on a rail with the appropiate switchiing arrangement. Hotbird, Astra 19.2E and 28.2E will be easy. In the UK you'll only be able to get BADR-4 with a Ku-Band dish. To receive Arabsat 2B you'd need a C-Band dish. BADR-5 and 6 only have a footprint over the Middle East or North Africa.
