What is the difference between fixed-gear and single speed road?
I'm a complete beginner in bicycle mechanics but I've ridden on a fixed gear before and fell in love with the feel of the ride. I also like the simple aesthetics of these road bikes but I don't want to be superficial in rushing to buy these types.
Also how much money should I expect to pay for a good intermediate level bike of this type?
A fixed gear bike will NOT coast or freewheel. The pedals are always in motion if the bike is in motion - forward or backward. A single speed will coast when the rider stops pedaling.
